Villa Ria Review

Villa Ria is nestled into the natural hillside amongst fruit trees and flowers. You enter the walled compound from the parking area through an antique entrance gate, passing the separate staff building and gym room, following the path through the garden. The main villa entrance is reached by stepping stones over a small fish pond. The entrance path continues down the hillside to the private, stone tile, infinity style pool overlooking the famous Sayan Gorge.

“This is our second trip to Bali and Villa Ria Sayan has made all the difference because of its fantastic setting above the river. My mom and my young boys loved hiking in the area, swimming in the pool, discovering all the new plants and flowers and even all the cows, pigs and chickens we saw along the way. The staff was fantastic and the food very good.”

“A beautiful setting, a tranquil environment but set in the midst of everyday local life. All together Villa Ria Sayan really manages to capture what is the very essence of Bali. Staff were very cooperative and the management very unobtrusive. All in all a very enjoyable stay even for old Bali hands.”

We were nervous about our choice of Villa Ria Sayan as we booked it on the internet and you can never be too confident… However our trepidation quickly disappeared when we walked through the gates of the villa to reveal the Sayan Valley vista that has so mesmerized us all. The villa space was the most peacefully ambient space we have ever experienced. Nengah, Ketut, Wayan and Ketut on security ensured our every wish was joyfully met. Our dining here at Villa Ria was always wonderful and the candles, the flowers all added to our experience. Thank you – we would love to come back again – “’Kembali”.

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Ria Sayan immensely. The house is beautiful and coupled with a magical tropical surround, tranquility and romance flourished during our stay. A special thanks to the staff- all of whom are friendly and incredibly helpful. Thank you for all your kind gestures. We will always remember them. We hope everyone who stays here enjoys it as much as us. We don’t want to leave.

I might have a really good overview of life at Villa Ria as I stayed for an entire year. In this year I made many friends, saw dozens and dozens of other houses around Ubud, and always happily returned to Villa Ria. I don’t believe in magic, but this place is magical. Many Greetings.
